The Real Jam And Chutney Company At The Spot Deli

The Real Jam and Chutney Company at the Spot Deli

With the opening of Spot’s Deli, we are delighted to showcase our near neighbours and the makers of our delicious jams, chutneys and marmalades, The Real Jam and Chutney Company. The Real Jam and Chutney Company is literally one of our neighbours, as they are just a few doors along from us in Woodlands Road. The company was originally founded in 2004 and is now owned and run by Paul and Stella, who took over the company in 2010. They use recipes that have been passed down through three generations of the family. It is not only their special recipes, perfected over so many years, but the love and passion that goes into every jar, that ensures the preserves and chutneys are all so tasty and delicious.

Stella is the jam maker and Paul helps with the stirring sometimes (!) although he is mostly busy with the distribution far and wide to the many lovers of their products. Stella uses traditional methods for her jam and chutney making and is very discerning when choosing her local, seasonal produce, wherever possible, some of which comes from one of ‘Spot’s’ other favourite suppliers, Sunnyfields Organic Farm, based in Marchwood.

Stella’s jams and marmalades are zingy, tasty and full flavoured and a taste of her Tutti Frutti jam will whizz you back to your childhood and memories of jam sandwiches after school and jam spread thickly on warm scones as an afternoon tea time treat at your nana’s house.

Her chutneys are legendary too and the Piccalilli that we serve in the kitchen café is so popular that it flies off the shelves….. People taste it with their café dish and then cannot resist buying a jar to take home with them. Likewise the beetroot and horseradish chutney is a revelation, especially when served with some local Rosary goats cheese and a slice of freshly baked, crunchy crust Bloomer bread… a foodies delight for sure!

To stock up on The Real Jam and Chutney Company’s delicious jams, marmalades and chutneys, please visit their website, for details of stockists across the county, or why not simply visit the new deli at ‘Spot’ as we have a very wide choice from their range.

We hope to ‘spot’ you in the deli very soon!
